ESC TV Series
(presented on Channel 10 from November 1996 to February
1997)
How the Alberta Government Operates
The Economic Society of Calgary (ESC) presented
a 12-part series of 30-minute television programs entitled How the Alberta
Government Operates on Shaw Cable channel 10.
The objective of this educational program is to assist
Albertans to better understand the mandate, functions, restructuring,
performance and issues of Alberta governmental departments.
The format of the series is conversational: two members
of the ESC will interview the Minister, Deputy or Assistant Deputy Minister
of each department.
The Hon. Ralph Klein will be featured in the first series.

The above series was broadcasted from 23 October 1996 to
30 January 1997 in Calgary and from November 1996 to 25 February 1997

Each of the officials tried to meet the objective of the
series by describing the major functions and jurisdictions of their departments,
the importance of their three-year business plan, their success in restructuring,
the current issues facing it, and the role of their departments in influencing
the Alberta economy.
